I launched Paper Jane Studio in 2014, as a creative platform for my design and illustration services, which includes decorative illustration for products, book illustration, logo design, and stationery design.
My work is heavily influenced by the Pennsylvania Dutch folk art and farm culture that surrounds me in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The simplified forms, decorative line detail, symmetrical and radial compositions seen in my work are inspired by the archaic styles of Pennsylvania Dutch folk art, and my vibrant palettes are surrounded by the beautiful landscape and farm culture found in Lancaster County. This influence makes my work special and allows it to stand out in an industry that relies so heavily on trends.
I graduated from Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) in 2010 with a degree in illustration. I now live and work in Downtown Lancaster, Pennsylvania, where I am actively involved in the arts community. I have been teaching illustration and design at Pennsylvania college of art and design (PCAD) since 2018. I also serve as the Art Director for Addvent, a project that works with international artists to create products for wholesale and licensing.
